Five By Five

Elli and friends had a tremendous time at the smoothie party. They cut and washed all their fruit; and then prepared smoothies of their own recipes.  Now if only they were as organized with the clean-up….!  The winners of best tasting smoothie were Kelsey and Doris. But a good time was had by all; and Mom greatly enjoyed sampling all the creations!

Music is an essential part of our lives. It seems we are always singing some little ditty. And now Avery has begun to write songs. She and Thom are practicing for an open mike some date in the future. And Elli is just having a good time. Who knows where it will take us?

We travelled to Providence, Rhode Island to visit the Roger Williams Park Zoo. One of the better zoos we’ve been to, this one featured today a butterfly exhibit, and fabulous funky animals we don’t get to see often like a Red Panda and a Giant Anteater. Our group successfully lured the grey kangaroos up to the front of their enclosure, by politely requesting to see them.

Jack has heartily embraced the next step in the culinary adventure of his life: cereal. Long an admirer of solid food, he eats his daily rice cereal meal with gusto, and by all measures appears eager to take on sweet potatoes, bananas and anything else we are willing to send his way.

’nuff said.

Today was Children & the Arts in Peterborough. It is a big event for our town. And it was the first time Jack got to experience it. Here he is in a quiet moment before all hell broke loose. Once the parade began, so did Jack’s screaming. We had to flee for home while Thom, Avery, and Elli continued with the festivities. We’ll try again next year. This is Avery and Molly relaxing after returning home from downtown. And finally, Elli in her Spring Concert attire being admired by her brother.

A combination that doesn’t happen often- Just Jack, Mom, and Elli playing around. And now Jack is sleeping in his crib while the girls are out with Grandma at SMS’s Spring Concert. Thom is at work. Mind you! Jack won’t be settled for long. He gives you just enough time to think that he’s really going to sleep for a good chunk and then WHAM- he’s up and wanting to snuggle. But that is ok. Who doesn’t want to snuggle?
